China Marker Sketches

So recently I’ve become obsessed with sketching in blue ballpoint pen. However – I’ve been trying to think about how I can capture the same looseness on a larger scale. SO…

These are a few sketches I’ve done with Oil Crayons (Sharpie China Marker) on Dura-Lar. The Dura-Lar is a matte plastic sheet that us SUPER smooth. I’m kinda pumped and excited to experiment some more.

BLOG! I love this idea. I am going to try it with my 2nd year students. Do you use the oil stick and ball point pen on the same piece? If so, how does that work?

I don’t use them in the same piece – you could probably use the ballpoint pen under the china marker – but there is no reason to. The blue china marker works well and has the same effect on a larger scale.
